Bessie Shackelford

Shackelford, Bessie 94 of Dayton was called home on April 5, 2023 in her residence.  She was born in Bell County, Ky on March 4, 1929, the daughter of Lee and Mary Reynolds. Bessie was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time making crafts and feeding the birds. She was a believer in the Pentecostal church.  Bessie was a LPN with St Elizabeth Hospital and later various nursing homes.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jesse and Ernest Reynolds, sisters Bertha Helton and Judie Wildner and her husband Silas Shackelford. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Mary Shackelford and numerous nieces and nephews including Debbie Reynolds. A memorial service to honor Bessie will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2:00PM at United Holiness Church 436 Lyle Ave, Springfield, with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating.
