Barbara Susan Yerian

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Susan Yerian, 66 of New Carlisle, Ohio, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Barb as many would call her, was a loving wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She found great joy in entertaining and made sure that everyone was well fed. Barb was the life of the party and always had a smile that would light up her whole face. She enjoyed a wide variety of music and loved to sing along while her husband and friends played guitar. Barb was delighted to spend time with family, especially her grandkids, who were a bright light in her life. She was an avid sports fan and she loved watching and cheering on her favorite teams, the Cincinnati Bengals, OSU Buckeyes football, and UK basketball.

Barb earned a degree in social work from Clark State and worked as a social worker at Adult Protective Services in Springfield for over 18 years. She then worked at United Senior Services for a few years after retirement. She dedicated her career to improving lives of Seniors in her community. Barb was more than a social worker. She truly cared about all of her clients and went above and beyond for them. She was a trusted advisor, confidant and friend. Always willing to lend a listening ear or offer words of wisdom, Barb had an unparalleled gift for making others feel valued and heard.

Beyond her professional life, Barbara cherished her family and friends above all else. She was the heart of countless gatherings creating memories filled with laughter, love, and delicious food. Her home was a haven, a place where everyone was welcome and supported. Barb loved to give advice (even when unsolicited) and she shared her wisdom generously, always offering a listening ear and thoughtful perspective. Her kindness, generosity, resilience and unwavering optimism will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire those she touched.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ed, her three daughters, April (Anthony), Holly (Joe) and Stephanie (Adam), seven grandchildren; Cameron, Kelsey, Madeline, Brendan, Allison, Brooklyn and Catelynn as well as four great grandchildren Xavier, Aleah, Adilynn, and Aria, 2 brothers Steve and Don, sister in-law Joy and brother in-laws Moe and Gene, other extended in-laws, all her beloved nieces and nephews and her fur baby Elijah. She had a number of very close friends in her 66 years of life. She was preceded in death by her father Robert and mother Nancy, mother in-law Doris, and her youngest brother Kevin.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to honor Barbara and celebrate her life.
