Barbara Louise Curtis

Barbara Louise Curtis age 83 of Springfield passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023.  She was born the daughter of Irvin & Doris Pauline (Jones) McWhorter on March 30, 1940, in Springfield, Ohio.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband William Curtis; brother Bernard McWhorter; sister Charlotte Parks.  Barbara is survived by her loving children Howard (Deborah) Husted of Springfield & Melodee K. (Donald) Smith of Texas; stepchildren Bill (Patty) Curtis of Urbana, & Lori (Shawn) Dovell of Urbana; sister Patricia Adams; grandchildren Rebecca (Shane) Baumgartner of Texas, Rachel (Weston) Swim of Texas, Summer (Jacob) Baker of Missouri, Craig (Lyndsey) McAdams of Cleveland, & Angela (Garth) Lightfoot of Springfield; great grandchildren Everly & Isaac; several nieces, nephews, & a host of friends. Barbara was a member of the Fraternal Order of The Eagles 397 & Rockway Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens & pruning her trees. Barbara was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds & enjoyed cheering on favorite 2nd baseman Jonathan India because of his longhair. Barbara also enjoyed fishing and was known to “out fish” most of her family.    Most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her family.  Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, & friend.  She will be missed by all of those who love her.  Friends & family may call on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 11AM – 12PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E.
