News Death Notice

DAVIS, Allen "Wayne" 55, of Springfield passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 after several years of failing health. He was born December 14, 1959 in Springfield the son of Joe and Josse Mae (Moore) Davis. Wayne was a graduate of Shawnee High School, worked 23 years at International Steel Wool, and recently at England Estates. Wayne is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol L. (Perry) Davis of Springfield; his mother Josse Clifford of Ewing VA; three daughters Heather Harmon of Wilmington, OH, Ashley McDowell and Maranda Davis, both of Springfield; two brothers Kenneth Davis and Clyde (Mary) Davis both of Ewing, VA; three sisters Joy (Frank) Wildman and Kathy Shipton both of Springfield, and Donna Pelfry of LaFollette, TN; five grandchildren Conner McDowell, Noah, Seth, Jonah and Falicity Harmon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; brother Bobby Joe Davis; sister Wanda McClanahan; and brother-in-law Rusty Shipton. Visitation will be Friday from 1:30-2:30 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Wayne's life will be Friday at 2:30 PM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Tim Young officiating. Burial to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
