Gonzalez-Hernandez, Alicia, 96 of Springfield passed away April 16, 2022, in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Uvalde, Texas on June 6, 1925, the daughter of Pedro Reyes and Elvira (Vasquez) Gonzalez. Alicia was also known as Alice or Lecha. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Urbana, and the Mexican Fiesta planning committee. Alice was a former member of St. Mary’s and St. Raphael’s Catholic Churches both in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband David Huerta-Hernandez in 1997, David was born in Canton, Ohio on August 1, 1925, they were married October 27, 1957, in Indiana, Lake County, Gross Point and married in St Mary’s Catholic Church, Springfield on September 5, 1964. Survivors include their children Cresenciano & Ellie Cruz of Bakersfield, California, Grace & Michael Flenniken of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Olga & Ed Hess, Rachel & Tony Clay, David Hernandez, Jr., Rudy Hernandez, Yolonda Hernandez, Barbara Ann Servin, Alicia & Norval Owens, and Christina & Matthew Montgomery all of Springfield; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services to honor Lecha will be Wednesday at 1:00PM in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in her honor may be made to the Breast Cancer Endowment Fund of Clark County, Inc.
