Larry Carter Fraley

A 1969 graduate of Springfield South High School, Larry C. Fraley went on to become a highly decorated veteran of the United States Army Special Forces, proudly servingour country for twenty years. He is the recipient of numerous military awards, and was a candidate for Army Soldier of The Year in 1980.

Larry attended the University of Maryland, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri, earned his Bachelors Degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Cincinnati, Ohio, and holds certification in Eye and Homograph Enucleating.

Larry joined the funeral firms in 1993 as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, and was promoted to Managing Funeral Director for TROSTEL, CHAPMAN FUNERAL HOME in 2003.

In his spare time, Larry enjoys working in his yard, tennis, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, climbing, and spending time with his family. He is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, the North Hampton Lions Club, is a charter member of Enon Sertoma, New Carlisle Lodge 100 F&AM, 32 degree Master Mason, the Dayton Scottish Rite, and Royal Arch Mason.

Larry and his wife, Springfield native Karen (Corbin) Fraley, have two sons, Preston and Joshua, who are also graduates of the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science.

“I have always been interested in the funeral business. I wanted to be a funeral director ever since high school. But I served in our military for over twenty plus years, and when it came time for me to retire from the Army, I decided to go to the Cincinnati College of Mortuary science to become a funeral director and embalmer. I like what I do because every day and every family is different. It feels great to help families in this way. Service to the family is very important and I feel our directors and staff do their best for each family. I personally have a commitment to making the family have a very pleased, final picture of their loved one. Our staff is great and they are always there to assist the families.”
